ODM-Kenya presidential aspirant, Mr Kalonzo Musyoka, claims there is a plot to assassinate him and his fellow contender, Mr Raila Odinga.
Kalonzo said the Government wanted to eliminate either of them ahead of the presidential nomination, and then shift the blame on the party.
"The Government is using all means to see the fall of ODM-Kenya," said Kalonzo.
"As a presidential aspirant, I have my intelligence network and what I am telling you is real."
He claimed some foreigners are being involved in the scheme.
The Mwingi North MP cited three people from Ethiopia’s Oromo Liberation Front, who have been spotted in a Toyota Corolla car, whose registration number he gave.
Kalonzo said according to the Registrar of Motor Vehicles, the number plates are fake as the registered car is a public service vehicle in Mombasa.
He said he had recorded a statement at the CID headquarters.
But police sources in Nairobi and Mombasa said Kalonzo had not reported the case.
Kalonzo spoke when he met Muslim leaders at the former Mombasa mayor, Mr Ali Taib’s office.
Kalonzo insisted that nothing would break ODM-Kenya.
"ODM-Kenya is a united party and Kanu’s demands are part of the negotiations which have been going on," he said.
He assured party supporters that the movement was stronger than ever before and all negotiations would be done in good faith.
"Tomorrow’s (today) NEC meeting will prove our critics wrong as we shall emerge more united," he said.
Earlier, Kalonzo had addressed members of the Akamba Handicraft Society in Changamwe.
MPs, Mr Daudi Mwanzia, Mr Mutinda Mutiso, Mr Lucas Maitha, Mr Joe Khamis and Mr Ramadhan Kajembe accompanied him.
The secretary of Supkem in Mombasa, Mr Munthar Khitamy, said Kalonzo has a clean record of leadership.
