March 6, 2007 (ADDIS ABABA) — An armed opposition group which mainly operates in northwestern Ethiopia killed 19 Ethiopian soldiers during February 2007, a press statement published by the military command of the group said today.
The rebel Ethiopian People’s Patriotic Front (EPPF) in an attack it carried out in northern Ethiopia in the month of February alone killed 19 Ethiopian soldiers, wounded four others and burnt down one military vehicle.
On 1 February, EPPF carried out an attack at a place called Wedem and killed six Ethiopian soldiers, wounded four others and took their arms.
On the same day, EPPF troops attacked a military vehicle, which was heading to Nedad Bahri from Maserigala, and burnt down the vehicle with 13 Ethiopian soldiers on board.
