Muktar Robow Abu-Mansor, the Union of Islamic Courts assistant security chief has told Shabelle Radio Tuesday that two Ethiopian armored trucks were once again blown up by residential militias in Kansah Omane environs near Bardale district in Bai province, southern Somalia.

“For the second day residents in Kansah Omane against the enemy of Ethiopians in their country blew up one armored vehicle, riddling another with bullets and number of Ethiopian soldiers was killed during the skirmishes”, abu Mansor said, urging residents to kill and fight with Ethiopians passing through their areas.

Ethiopian foreign ministry admitted Monday that one of it troops had been slain and an armored vehicle detonated by a land mine in southern Somalia.

According to sources close to Ethiopian security officers, six of its forces had died in an ambush attack by unknown gunmen in southern Somalia.

Islamists are alleging that the Ethiopian battlewagon had been blown up at the same spot where number of Ethiopian forces was killed on Monday.

Neither the Ethiopian government nor the Somali interim government was available for comments over these latest skirmishes in southern Somalia where more pro-Islamist militias ambushed a convoy of Ethiopian troops heading for Baidoa, a seat for the government.

UN said more than seven thousand Ethiopian soldiers were in Somalia, warning all neighboring countries meddling in Somalia to stay away from supporting the vying groups in the country.

Ethiopia says its troops are in Somalia to train the government forces.
Abu Mansor has incited the people in Baidoa and Bai province in general to continue the holy war against Ethiopians in the country.

“The Somali people any where in they are in Somalia should sacrifice their lives killing the enemy of Ethiopians and they will surely go to heaven”, urged abu Mansor.

Fear of war is mounting as large numbers of Ethiopians are reportedly entering Baidoa and the Islamists waging a slow war against the Ethiopians.

Somalia has had no central government since 1991 when warlords toppled former president Siad Barre.
